Roman Luskin, a Toronto resident, faces deportation along with the 8 year sentence he’s received on charges stemming from a horrific motor vehicle accident that caused the deaths of three people and seriously injured others in 2009.
Mr. Luskin was going a whopping 200km per hour in his BMW when he hit a van near Tobermory Drive and Finch Avenue West. The van was split into four pieces by the force of impact. Three people were thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, including a mother and her daughter. Their father and husband and another passenger were seriously injured; one of the injured parties lost 12 teeth and suffered a traumatic brain injury along with multiple other injuries. She was hospitalized for 3 months and has been left with memory loss and a need for constant care after many surgeries. Her medical and rehabilitative treatments continue, including speech psychotherapy.
The defendant moved to Canada from Israel in 2005. The deportation order results from earlier charges in a rather extensive criminal history.
